Il Nido
 
Il Nido holiday cottage is an ideal base for hikers, nature lovers, or those simply seeking a tranquil retreat in the Italian Alps. It is available for holidays and short breaks from April to October.

Located in the heart of the hamlet of Cicogna, it is a typical house of the area, with thick stone walls and a traditional stone roof. It was rebuilt from the ruins of an old small barn and has recently been renovated, maintaining original features and using environmentally friendly materials. |

On the ground floor the kitchen is equipped with gas cooker, washing machine, fridge, freezer and coal burning stove. |

The cosy lounge / dining area has exposed beams, a working fireplace, TV and VCR. Downstairs is a small shower room and WC. |

The cottage can sleep up to 5 people. Both bedrooms are on the first floor and are accessed through the exterior staircase and panoramic balcony. |

The room Lo Scoiattolo (the squirrel) has twin beds as well as a foldable armchair-bed and can be used as either a twin or triple room. The room Il Ghiro (the dormouse) has a double bed and its own private side balcony overlooking the mountains, valleys and woods of the national park. It also has an interior staircase, which leads directly to the lounge and shower room through a hatch. |

In the front patio of Il Nido is one of Val Grande's three round houses, cited in the book "Val Grande Ultimo Paradiso" (Val Grande the Last Paradise), by Teresio Valsesia . These unusual buildings were historically used for wine making or as outdoor facilities. |

The patio is equipped with barbeque, table and chairs for enjoyable outdoor dining. |
